Where we are...

Set up in 1992, the German Saturday School in Islington aims to support families who live in North and North East London who are trying to bring up their children bilingual. We are now the largest German Saturday School in Britain, teaching about 150 children and teenagers. We cover the full age range from 3-16, starting with nursery and leading up to GCSE- and AS-/A-Level preparation. Classes are taught in German so a certain level of German is required. We also run two adult classes (beginners and advanced) for the non-German speaking parents of our children. All our teachers are native German speakers.

We always encourage a friendly atmosphere every Saturday, and start the school  every week with German songs for everyone to join in. Our German baker sells cakes and other German goodies in the playground whilst the children attend classes where they improve their German through a wide range of engaging and fun activities. Our main goal is that all the children enjoy attending Saturday School.

We meet at Drayton Park Primary School in Islington (Arvon Rd, N5, right next to the Arsenal football stadium) on Saturdays from 10.15 am to 12.30 pm. Please get in touch with us beforehand if you want to visit.
